The Nextmen & Gentleman’s Dub Club definitely aren’t holding any punches with the choice for the first single from their forthcoming collaborative album “Pound for Pound”. They’ve joined forces with the heavy hitting MC Gardna to deliver a masterclass in spitting rhymes over a melody ringing with influences from ska, reggae, dub – making this the perfect soundtrack as summer beckons.
Gardna, a Bristol based lyricist who has been captivating audiences all over the world with his dubwise sound, has received huge support from the likes of Toddla T, Rob Da Bank, Don Letts, David Rodigan and many more. With him sparring with The Nextmen & Gentleman’s Dub Club for this single has drawn the very best from all of them.
When listening to “Rudeboy” you’ll find it almost impossible not to move, posture and shift your weight to the rolling bass that’s like a slow-mo one-two to anything stood in its path. The way Gardna lays the vocal further goes to confirm his status as a champ of his profession, not one beat missed, or one syllable dropped.
This marks a series of knock out tracks that The Nextmen and Gentleman’s Dub Club will be dishing up from May onwards – this is a collaboration that will be etched on the summer of 2018 and beyond!
